The Line was established  in 1995 by Gail Boardman  and Elisabet Thorin who  bring together a broad range  of knowledge and experience.  A lively and diverse exhibitions programme reflects this variety,  making The Line an active  cultural focus.

Gail Boardman
Gail is a graduate of Glasgow and Heriot Watt universities and has worked in arts and cultural management throughout her career. Working independently since 1990, projects have ranged from the national Charter for the Arts to the Linlithgow Book Festival.

Elisabet Thorin
Elisabet graduated at BorĂ¥s and Uppsala universities and was Director of Culture for a large local authority in Sweden before coming to Scotland in 1994. Her wide experience of running active libraries and arts programming, in addition to artist contacts, is invaluable.
